Xavier Vasques




Xavier Vasques obtained a Master’s in Applied Mathematics from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 2005, a Master’s in Computer Science from the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM), and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montpellier. During his doctoral studies, Xavier Vasques used techniques from mathematics and physics to investigate the mechanisms of action of deep brain stimulation for the treatment of movement disorders.
In 2013, Xavier Vasques joined the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) as manager of the Data Analysis and Brain Atlasing sections of the Blue Brain Project and European Human Brain Project. He has held various positions at IBM, including Chief Technology Officer of the Systems Hardware division of IBM France. Xavier as been Chief of Staff to the CEO of IBM France from 2017 to 2018. Xavier has been nominated IBM Client Center Montpellier Director. Xavier is as well Mathematician and Head of the Laboratory for Research in Clinical Neuroscience (LRENC) in Saint-André-de-Sangonis.
