Bruno Bachimont




Bruno Bachimont is a faculty member in engineering and philosophy of knowledge. He is interested in intellectual technologies and their role in the formation, configuration, nature, and transmission of knowledge. Bachimont was director of research and scientific advisor at the French National Audiovisual Institute, which allowed him to examine questions of heritage, memory, and documentary engineering (ontologies, indexing, the Semantic Web). Subsequently, he was director of research at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne, where he developed a philosophy of digital technology. Bruno Bachimont is currently director of research and development of  the Costech lab (Knowledge, Organization, and Technical Systems) at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne. In addition, he has been a guest professor at the Université de Montréal (Quebec, Canada) for ten years and the Université de la Manouba (Tunisia) for the past five years.
